This is our story of big change. We’re Ingrid (mom), Eric (dad), and three children, and we left “normal” behind when we converted a 37-foot retired school bus into our dream tiny home on wheels. We rented out our home in Florida and have been exploring the world since May 2021.
We wanted more from life: more family time, more travel, more adventure.
Our History
Eric was a skydiving instructor for many years before becoming a certified public accountant in his early 30s. Ingrid started working in accounting after college but switched careers early on to pursue real estate, where she become the top 1% of million-dollar producing agents in the state of Florida. Ingrid & Eric met at the University of South Florida in Tampa where they both studied accounting.
Eric and Ingrid started dating in 2014 and got married in 2017. All of their kids were born at home with midwives.
How do you afford to stay on the road?
We are working part-time, though now 100% remote. We also have a small rental portfolio that provides cash flow. Long term, we would like to write about our travels and create more videos as a passive income strategy but we aren’t there yet!
The cost of living in an RV is much lower than that of a stationary lifestyle. We don’t have to worry about mortgage, car, car insurance, daycare and utility payments. What a relief!
